Overview

TFbinding predicts potential transcription factor (TF) binding regions in DNA
without prior knowledge of species or tissue. It is purely sequence-based and
makes use of the composition, transition and distribution of nucleotides and amino
acids in DNA and TF sequences. In independent testing of TFbinding on datasets
that were not used in training the method, its accuracy and MCC were as high as
81.8% and 0.634, respectively. TFbinding can be a useful aid for selecting
potential TF binding regions in a large amount of DNA sequences before
conducting biochemical experiments.
